Andrew is Principal of Kidu Lawyers which is a member of Pacific Legal Network.

 

Andrew grew up in (and is from) Papua New Guinea and has worked across the Pacific as both external and in-house counsel. He has a unique understanding of Papua New Guinea and doing business in the country and is fluent in Tok Pisin and Motu.

 

Andrew’s key experience is in telecommunications law and regulation and single and multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions. His experience also extends to banking and finance, corporate compliance, foreign investment compliance and general commercial advice. Andrew personally liaises and coordinates with local counsel, Government officials, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to make it easier for clients to do business in the Pacific.

 

Andrew also spent over eight years as senior in-house counsel for a multinational covering multiple Pacific jurisdictions, including Papua New Guinea. He was a key adviser to senior management, boards and shareholders on legal, regulatory, compliance, corporate governance and business development issues. This experience gives him a unique insight into the day-to-day management and operation of businesses, which he uses to provide clients with commercially focused and practical legal advice.

 

Andrew is also a Special Counsel for Pacific Legal Network which is a national practice group of Macpherson Kelley in Australia. He is admitted to practice in Australia and holds a current Practising Certificate from the Queensland Law Society.  He is also a Professional Member of the Papua New Guinea Institute of Directors.
