It wouldn’t be a true trip to the Pacific without a memorable bar, café, or restaurant discovery, and during my recent visit to Mount Hagen for a dear friend’s momentous wedding, I found a gem worth sharing.
Whether you're staying at the Rondon Ridge Hotel or just visiting for the day, you absolutely must stop by the Rondon Ridge Café, conveniently located at the hotel reception. It’s the perfect place to start your morning or unwind in the fresh, highland air in Papua New Guinea.

One unforgettable morning, I woke up at 5:30am to catch the sunrise over Mount Hagen. The valley was blanketed in fog, and as the light slowly crept in, the mist began to lift, revealing a breathtaking panorama of lush hills and distant peaks. The stillness was surreal, quiet, peaceful, and deeply grounding.
Despite the early hour, a friendly staff member was already at the café, greeting me with a warm smile. I ordered a cup of single origin Nebilyer Coffee, grown locally in the Nebilyer Valley and it was nothing short of spectacular. Smooth, rich, and full of depth, the coffee captured the essence of the Highlands with every sip.
But this was more than just a great cup of coffee. It was tree-to-cup traceability in action every bean grown, harvested, and roasted with purpose by Togoba Kofi, a name rooted in quality, sustainability, and community. From the fertile highland soil to your cup, every bean is a story of tradition, care, and connection to the land.
Sipping that coffee while watching the fog lift over the valley was a moment I’ll never forget. The blend of local flavour, genuine hospitality, and natural beauty made it one of the highlights of my trip.
If you're planning a visit to Papua New Guinea, make sure to stop by Rondon Ridge Café. Whether you're there for a wedding, a retreat, or just passing through, the Nebilyer coffee experience is one you won’t want to miss!
